It's not the development platform. That'd be "Maemo SDK". Maemo is the  
platform, which is everything from the "kernel to the SDK".

My _own_ opinion is that people who just own a tablet and do nothing  
else are not part of any "community".

nokia.com is the official Maemo website. maemo.org is the community- 
directed meeting place for the Maemo Community. It is clearly distinct  
from Maemo Software and is not official in any way.
