The starting point for me was not the document on the wiki (which I assumed was obsolete and would be replaced with the council's proposal for a new election process when we eventually received it) but the way the election was run last time -- nothing more or less. So, for me, it was a surprise that Andrew thought the 25-point rule should be re-instated/retained. And it was also a complete surprise that you, Benson and others thought the description of the election process in the wiki document had any relevance to the discussion of the replacement process. Maybe it wasn't for others. Maybe I am the only stupid person on this list and it was obvious to everyone else. But, on the other hand, maybe there are others who also don't realise this is being proposed. I feel it needs discussion here and on ITT and, in particular, someone should be willing to stand up and explain why they believe the council should only represent contributors, not users. I suppose it might also be useful to know how many people who voted last time still have less than 25 points. Dave, could you work that out for us? Graham
