I'm not sure it's necessary for Nokia to necessarily sponsor it, but
there are certainly a large number of graphic artists and usability
experts in the community (timsamoff, wazd, glaubert, ...).

It would be interesting to know if they'd be interested in organising
themselves somehow to set up a *community* body to assist in
developing good-looing, HIG-compliant UIs.

Indeed, the crowd-sourcing improvements to the HIG, being organised by
dneary could be considered the start of just such a group. Certainly,
Tim's familiarity with the refactored text has already been of benefit
to people on the -developers mailing list.
