http://maemo.org/profile/view/jaffa/ Andrew is probably one of the best known "personalities" of maemo.org. He was one of the early defenders of the whole principle of the Council, and has been part of the whole "internet tablet experience" ever since it started, and maybe even before that. Andrew is the kind of person who is cut out for this position (until he goes to do even greater things). He knows how to express himself in a way that will convey his ideas exceptionally well and due to his professional track record, he is also able to spin these same ideas orally, in front of an audience. Andrew has proven on numerous occasions that he was an invaluable member of this community, and his humility in most regards is quite simply an amazing example of how to behave in any community. By trade, Andrew is a Java developer/architect/consultant, which, even if it doesn't relate immediately to Maemo, ensures that at least when he leaves the office he'll want to do something else, safeguarding the fact his motivation and dedication will be undisputed. What his current job also implies is that Andrew understands how a corporation works and how the different management levels work and think. This gives him an incredible advantage when communicating with Nokia. Andrew has expressed he did not want to present himself for the Council at this election, as he feels new blood might ensure a dynamic continuity of the work that is being rendered by the Council. Today, during a presentation about the maemo.org community in London, Andrew said (something along the lines of): "In order to be part of this community, the only requirement is to be selfish. If you want something, then somebody else might want the same thing, and working together you both benefit from it". As such, I would like to nominate Andrew, once again, to be one of the candidates of the 2010 Q1 Council. Please do show your support, as is it only by seeing a lot of nodding and approval that he will not refuse the nomination outright. -- question = ( to ) ? be : ! be; -- Wm. Shakespeare
