Randall,

As a rule of thumb, I would expect that "the cheaper, the better". I
would suggest creating a personal proposal including different
options, outlining the benefits, inconveniences, and specific prices
of each. Also, include the price of the hotel, etc. Also, include
(direct) links to the different sources where you got said
information.

Please note that airplane prices increase dramatically as the deadline
approaches, so providing this kind of information as soon as possible
would be of great benefit to all of those who are organising.
