Hi everyone,

More apologies for delays in communication, but I've been going through
a tenure review process for the last couple of weeks and I've been
swamped with wall-to-wall work. That's a good thing for me, even though
maemo.org is forced to suffer through long bouts of silence.

To break the silence, I thought it would be a good time to schedule a
meeting. Not just a Maemo Community Council meeting, but one that
incorporates the m.o staff as well.

The time:

The place[1]:

1. There is still one important m.o issue that is pending[2], and I'm
going to have to cede to Andrew to head it up if he can make the
meeting, as he knows more about the background story, how the decisions
were made, and (hopefully) what should happen next. If any of the m.o
staff would like to take a few minutes to answer some of those questions
on this list (pre-meeting), please do so. I don't think there was any
response to this issue.

2. MeeGo Conference is coming up quickly. It's organizing itself rather
sufficiently, but there is another side of the conference that we
haven't really discussed yet: MeeGo from a Maemo Perspective... We need
to discuss what we, as the m.o Community, can do to communicate the
conference to the greater m.o community.

3. Similarly, it might serve us well to come up with a strategy for
helping to keep Maemo-specific issues relevant in the MeeGo world. There
are a lot of technical issues (and arguments) as well as some UX
consistency issues that might possibly deserve some representatives at
the conference.

4. The last m.o Sprint that I can find on the wiki is from April
2010[3]. I could be wrong, so let me know where I can find more current
information. I know that Andrew began reporting tasks in email form, so
maybe that's what happened post-April. I don't want to advocate going
back to the wiki format (unless we have to), but I'd like to get us all
back to speed as far as what the current tasks are, which tasks should
take priority, etc.

5. maemo.org 2011: the current state of our website and web-based
community and where it goes next? This doesn't have to be a full-fledged
conversation, but the end of the year is coming up and we should begin
to think about it.

That's all for now. I hope you can make it to the meeting.

See you soon in Dublin,
Tim
