I've been experimenting with representing the screen realistically in online 
documentation -- it's 800 pixels wide but it's also only about 4 inches 
wide.

An 800-pixel wide screen capture shows all the pixels, but is 8 inches wide 
on my 100-pixel-per-inch screen. Making it 4 inches wide cuts the number of 
pixels by 75 percent. The type might be realistically sized, but it's far 
less readable with so few pixels than it will be on the device with its 
reported 225 ppi.

While your remarks in general make sense about not wasting space, I think 
reality may bang headlong with the theory. Me, I'm waiting to have one of 
the physical devices in my hand before I decide what type size is optimal.

That said, I too hope for more and beautiful fonts. What IS the situation 
about loading additional fonts?
