Hi I tried compiling Xmame (http://www.mame.net/) on Maemo. It was quite simple, merely fiddling with the makefile was enough. The program runs quite well on the sdk. I can also compile it with the ARM rootstrap, but obviously I can't test it. I'm not sure the 770 has enough horsepower to run it, I get very laggy performance when playing on my PII 300 MHz toy laptop. I also made a small launcher for the program using Hildon. Below are some screen shots: http://users.tkk.fi/~jpakkane/mamelauncher.png http://users.tkk.fi/~jpakkane/maemo-mame.png Among the fun things I discovered was that if you minimize XMame, there is no way to bring it back to the foreground (it doesn't show up in any of the GUI process listings). Also the helloworld packaging demo does not link against Hildon. Making it link requires unpleasant incantations with Autoconf and Automake. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
