Hey Alexander, Those are the exact same error messages that I'm getting, and the behavior is the same for me under Slackware 10.1. There was one deviation for me with the installation when I was forced to move (due to space restrictions on my root drive) the location of the scrachbox package to my /home directory (which is where I mount my second, and larger, partition), and then link /scratchbox to /home/scratchbox. Aside from that I used the exact configuration from the tutorial, and the output matched the tutorial exactly. In fact the installation steps from the tutorial seemed to be going so smoothly that I was shocked when "af-sb-init.sh start" threw errors. Since it seems that, perhaps, the non-standard location of scratchbox might be an issue (seems odd, but I've seen stranger things) I think I'll resize my root partition and give this another try over the weekend.
