Hi fellow developers,

I got my 770 and played around with it a bit and just want to share my
first impression on it.

Design
======
I like the visual and hardware design. The sliding protection
combination is perfekt. Just the arrows on the left are a bit focused on
right hand folks, but anyway it´s a landscape concept opposed to the
palm like vertical focused PDAs. A plus is the standard-usb port, it
saves me carrying cables as it has the same like common as cameras (and
my PSP)

Software
========

As mentioned on this list, the basic PIM apps are not sufficient, I
expected a seamles integration with my 7650. Dialup to my predefiend
network provider ends up with unkown server error. But thats what the
development program is for ;)
Maybe mill planned xmas present to myself (n90) will work (and share the
rs-mmc card)

I am missing a microphone plug (and voice recorder application). Is
there a special plug to connect it via the headphone connector?

Surfing the net works fine, while the audioplayer is a bit picky about
playing streams. www.digitallyimported.com does not work, some other do
work smooth. Walking around with wireless internet radio is nice.
Setting up a ad-hoc network to my Windows XP based TabletPC with WPA via
wlan failed for a unkown reason. Got anyone WPA working?

Status

I would like to have some more information from the status/notification
icons on the top bar. how good is the wlan reception, give the battery
percentage some where at best while hovering over the icon (did not find
the voltage status anywhere).

Kernel

I am still in the process of setting up my scratchbox stuff, beware that
the apt-get source installs version 1.0. I would love to hack the kernel
and would be interested which parts are binary only. Is there a tun/tap
device to use tools like openvpn? Is there a bootloader (i am used from
linux on iPAQ/simpad) ?

As of now I really enoy my device, ScummVM works great, and a game of
chess shows me that I need to improve my skills. I am looking forward to
get Tetris, Chess and more games to work via bluetooth and wlan
multiplayer option.

Regards,
    Stefan
