To follow up my own post,  I realized that I needed to load sunrpc and
lockd modules first.   I'm still not there yet, when I try to mount I
get a "Protocol not supported" error that I am still trying to figure
out.   Gotta love NFS when it works, but diagnosing it when it doesn't
is a pain.
