One (very strong IMHO) reason could be that legacy scratchbox
(0.9.8.xseries) doesn't work in a 64 bit environment.
As all AMD systems sold today are 64 bit and more and more Linux
distributions are released for 64 bit environments, I think that moving to
the Scratchbox stable (1.0.x) series is becoming a priority (always IMHO of
course !).
I'm using Scratchbox 1.0.1 rc1 for x86_64 architecture (see
http://www.rahkonen.org/projects.html) with the latest Maemo release and it
seems to be working just fine.
