Hi all! First off, I'm just a hobby coder, not a pro developer, so if this is the wrong place to ask just ignore me :) Anyway, I installed scratchbox 0.9.8.5 (from debs on the scratchbox website) on a current Debian testing-i386 machine and followed the instructions for setting up the rootstrap as per the tutorial. However, -xephir (started with the script from the tutorial) segfaults as soon as I try to launch maemo via af-sb-init.sh start. Before its window closes, something orange flashes past, so it's working up to a point. - Xvnc works better, I at least get something akin to the screen shown in the tutorial. xterm works, as does the control panel, the rest (i. e. clock applet) doesn't work. Any menu with a '>' (submenu symbol) will crash the app when I click to expand it. - I then tried installing the maemopad deb with app-installer, which reported no errors, though it did not show up in any menu afterwards. Running it from an xterm works, as does typing, but none of the menu items or dialogs (fonts, file open). So, what should work in a pristine maemo environment? Does anyone recognize the symptoms and can tell me where I messed up? Regards, Chris
