All, here is an interesting data point regarding the use of VNC and the non-response to taps on the left side of the screen image. If I use the N800, under the control of a VNC (Tightvnc) client to connect to a Windows System using the N800 Rdesktop (RDP) client, then I my taps on the left side of the screen (e.g. the Windows Start button) will work. In other words what ever "dead space" there is when the N800 desktop is showing in the VNC client image becomes "live" when Rdesktop is up and connected. Also, I should mention that I don't experience any loss of connectivity due to screen inactivity, although the real N800 screen itself does go dark. In other words if I click on the screen image, the clicks are received and processed by the VNC Client=>N800+RDesktop=>Windows Server 2003.
