As soon as you've got to enter a WEP key or something...you'll wish you had it. I have had the misrecognized chars too...it beeps and highlight char but nothing goes into field...meanwhile I'm still typing thinking char went in. Compounding this is I'm left-handed...so my hand obscures brief showing of actual char in password field. It pretty much makes typing on soft keyboard a no-go for me.
