Lately we haven't been checking much the quality of the Garage news before approving them to the Garage frontpage (and the maemo.org home as well). The Social News filtering and the plan to have only the best news hitting the home gave us this flexibility. And there were not much garage news anyway, and the level was ok as an average. This is changing, though, and we are seeing more Garage news with a lower average quality. I'm talking about one sentence news, flagrant misspellings, irc-like language, total lack of context and other things that for some reason the average blog poster takes care of, even if flexibly. All this to say that we are going to be tougher now approving news even for the Garage homepage, and this will filter them to not appear in http://maemo.org/news either, so no favs, no maemo.org home (as soon as the new home is in place). If you are unhappy about this you only need to put some more love in your Garage news. We are not asking for Pulitzer articles either. ;) -- Quim Gil - http://maemo.org
