[maemo-developers] How to get a general utility package cross-listed from tools to extras?

Another possibility would be to put these tools in a repository that is
already on the devices (Tableteer). But that still leaves the problem that
the autobuilder doesn't use this repository, so build-dependencies are
still not satisfied.

Most of the sdk/tools tools we talk about are open source tools available
in every linux distribution with very simple dependencies. These don't
have a magic Nokia sauce?

The only exception I see are the sp-* tools.

Extras will always be aligned with major Maemo releases, if everything is
going the way it is supposed to. So I don't see many SDK incompatibility
issues that can be caused by being in Extras?

Although we might want to talk about uploading newer versions of existing
tools.
