Hi,

I suggest you to use a Debian base distribution, like Debian itself or
Ubuntu (please note that Xephyr component, distributed with latest
Ubuntu (Jaunty) contains a bug that makes the Maemo environment to
crash whenever you click inside a textbox. It's a known issue and you
already can find around patched packages.

Maemo only supports Gtk, officially, at the moment. Fremantle is Gtk
based. A version of Qt will be available for Fremantle too, but it
won't be officially supported neither complete.

> 3.       Is there any IDE for maemo on Unbuntu?

yes and no. You can use whatever editor you want, but I suggest you to
give a look at this IDE:
http://esbox.garage.maemo.org/2nd_edition/index.html

p.s: please avoid sending HTML formatted emails to the mailing list,
not all like them :)
