Which compiler/scratchbox package should be used to compile the kernel?

I already played a bit with IT2005 and compiled the kernel which was
used to compile the whole system (I guess it was gcc-3.3) but the
system didn't boot and someone told me the kernel was compiled with a
different compiler than the rest of the system.

How do you compile the kernel for IT2006?
