When I started running around with my 770, I found that the 'screen' program was my best long-lost friend.  Had been a while since I used it, but I fell back in love with it now that I basically carry a wireless dumb terminal/mp3 player in my pocket.

Changes unexpected disconnects into a very minor annoyance.
