For me version 1.0 is considered what I 'had in mind for the software'  
but in no means where the software _could_ go. It has to be near on  
rock solid stable and very usable. Unfortunately you can't say that  
about a lot of FOSS software hence the trepidation in announcing a 1.0  
release.
