Probably because its the IP address of the device on the other side and its the
only remote candidate we have.

Is it possible to get a log of stream-engine fro your device? In a terminal
run..

STREAM_ENGINE_PERSIST=1 /usr/lib/telepathy/telepathy-stream-engine >log 2>&1

and attach the log file, thank you
