PeteC - Odd, as I too ported into T-Mobile (in my case from O2) and just like
you I was issued with a T-Mobile SIM containing a "temporary" number yet my
N900 shows the correct (ie. my original O2) number and not the number that was
originally issued on the T-Mobile SIM.

Can a SIM hold more than one number (ie. the original and also ported-in
numbers) and is the N900 in your case somehow choosing the "wrong" (inactive?)
number?
