NAFAIK.

You've three options, I think:

  1) Don't do any optification yourself and let the builder
     handle it.

  2) Put the binary under /opt/maep and create a symlink to
     /usr/bin yourself.

  3) Put the binary under /opt/maep and change the
     .desktop file to invoke it from there.
