I agree with your point, but there were a number of times that there were blog posts, and threads about the council to try and get people involved and commenting on the first/second/third/... drafts which existed at that time: http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-developers/2008-June/033767.html http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-developers/2008-June/033829.html http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-community/2008-June/000378.html http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-community/2008-August/000644.html http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail//maemo-developers/2008-June/033797.html http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/maemo-community/2008-August/000648.html http://www.maemopeople.org/index.php/jaffa/2008/06/04/maemo_org_what_next_part_2 http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21161 http://maemo.org/midcom-permalink-548593686a1d11dd886655bb60f3a101a101 http://maemo.org/midcom-permalink-2ee694186dba11dd9b6cbde14cd502850285 http://www.maemopeople.org/index.php/jaffa/2008/08/26/maemo_org_community_council_elections http://www.openlogic.com/blogs/2008/08/community-liaisons-instead-of-community-managers/ http://blogs.open.collab.net/oncollabnet/2008/08/maemo-community.html The last two are particularly interesting - these are people *outside* of the Maemo userbase who have seen us organising ourselves like this and think it's a great idea (ego_boost++). Advertising new things is difficult, but I don't think it was a lack of trying which means people weren't involved. Can you give more specifics on what actions could've pulled you in to the earlier discussions?
