Import instructions are delivered together with import tools. There will be different versions of tools packages and for that we need to keep documentation in sync e.g. you get documentation for tools that you install as part of installation.

It would be nice to have some generic version of instructions also in wiki (saying that latest docs are available together with actual import tools).

No need to import first to any local MediaWiki. Importing is done directly to the wiki instance documents are planned to be published.

Doing extra imports and exports between MediaWikis is probably then reason why all pictures were missing at the end...
