Just for the record.

wxWidgets has also been ported
http://maemo.org/maemowiki/LibraryCatalog
I think this is a viable alternative to hildon (device specific) programming
and to qt. the wxGtk fits nicely onto the device ui and keyboard input works

I also blogged about lua + wxWidgets but there are also python bindings
