Thanks for the news, Please tell us if there is something we can do to help you. I mean, supporting Java officially is not in our current plans - but we are happy seeing progress in this field, as we are seeing progress with any programming language popular in the open source community. We need to concentrate on a limited set of officially supported languages, libraries, components and etc and we need to offer a great performance and results there. This alone takes a lot of effort and requires to gather a lot of expertise in the team, and so on. But, if from the community or interested third parties there is a clear need and push for something not supported (i.e. Java) we want to be as helpful as possible from our side, at least making your way as plain as possible for you to obtain your objectives. These were the nice words. ;) Feel free challenging them with nice proposals. The same words apply to the groups around C++ (thanks Openismus & co), Mono (thanks Novell & co) and etc. On Thu, 2007-03-29 at 22:57 +0200, ext Johannes Eickhold wrote: > Hi list, > > there are some news regarding Java for Maemo and OpenMoko. -- Quim Gil - http://maemo.org
