Back in June, about the time the maemo-community mailing list was
created from maemo2midgard-discussion, that was the best place to get
the most active participants in theh Maemo community.

As was pointed out, the council idea was blogged, discussed in the wiki,
announced on maemo.org, discussed on ITT - all in all, it would be
surprising if someone following maemo would not have heard about it at all.

You'll note that I specifically encouraged discussion on this topic when
I took the task on the 12th of August. And in fact, the conditions for
having a vote were changed subject to that discussion. So it's now a
little rich to suggest that everything was "supposedly" fixed.

The point was that this initiative has been seen much farther than just
within the Maemo community - so surely it's reasonable to expect that
everyone within the community was aware of it?

This entire discussion reminds me of a Chinese proverb (there's always
one, isn't there?): "It takes little effort to watch a man carry a load."

Cheers,
Dave.
