Bluetooth compresses the audio, destroying the phase relationships upon
which the data is encoded - so Bluetooth in would not work.

While one could theoretically use the N800 headphone jack to interface
to the radio, you would then have to be ABSOLUTELY certain that nothing
other than the GMFSK program were generating audio.

And you then have to remove the back of the unit, kludge up the serial
interface... Not exactly what I am after. What I want is a simple
package, not a Rube Goldberg device.

Additionally, eventually it would be nice to use one of the OFDM
high-bitrate modems for HF and the Speex vocoder to do digital voice
over HF - which requires both audio I/O to the radio AND audio I/O to
the user.
